Nzaloungou Botanical Garden

The newest attraction for Gabon, Nzaloungou Botanical Garden promises a glimpse into a world of secrets. Its mandate, 'conservation through cultivation', seeks to preserve threatened species of tropical plants and identify and conserve non-timber forest products with the assistance and cooperation of the local population.

We'll cross the lagoon of Fernan Vaz by motorboat (approximately a one hour journey), and then head towards Ndougou via the Rembo Nkomi River accompanied by the sounds of birds and monkeys. At Ndougou wharf we'll transfer to a 4 X 4 and journey 1 hour by dirt road through the African bush passing traditional villages to Nzaloungou Botanical Garden.

We'll be escorted around Nzaloungou Botanical Garden by the Project Leader with plenty of time to wander about independently and then finish off with a packed lunch before our late afternoon return to Omboué.
